Promotion of a book in the Japanese language "Learn to cook Serbian food with Jelena" by Jelena Jeremić was held at the Embassy on 9 November. The book publishing was made possible by the Association for the Promotion of Music Cooperation between Serbia and Japan, headed by the spouse of the former Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Ms. Etsuko Tsunozaki. The book was printed by the Japanese publisher "Buna no mori" and will be sold in the bookstores across Japan as from 5 December. Ambassador Nenad Glišić thanked everyone who contributed to the publishing of the cook book in Japanese, in which Serbia had a central place, stressing it would be one of the means for promoting the tourist potential of Serbia and increasing the recognition of our country and culture in Japan. The author, Jelena Jeremić, presented the book's content comprising of more than 50 recipes of Balkan cuisine, ranging from Zlakusa, Serbian breakfast, Slava table, to the menu of Nikola Tesla and Marshal Tito. The students from the Tokyo University for Foreign Studies performed for the guests Serbian folk dances in national costumes. The group has been performing Serbian national folk dances for many years, and the first members visited Serbia and took part in workshops with "Branko Cvetkovic" Cultural and Art Association. Jelena Jeremić was one of the initiators and the first group's instructor at TUFS. Promotion was attended by Mayors of Fujimi, the twin town of Šabac, Mitsuhiro Hosino and of Kashivazaki, the host city of the water polo national team of Serbia prior to the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Masahiro Sakurai. The guests received a copy of the book each and were served Serbian specialities and wines. During her stay in Japan, Jelena Jeremić will promote a book on Serbian dishes in the cities of Kashivazaki and Hofu.
