Ambassador Alexandra Kovač met with Mr. Kintaro Izumida, Managing Executive Officer and Chief Performance Manager of Nidec Corporation at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia on September 7.
In April this year the company decided to set up a new plant for in-vehicle motors and inverters in Novi Sad, Serbia. President Alexandar Vučić, Mayor Miloš Vučević and Ambassador of Japan to Serbia Takahiko Katsumata attended the ceremony to announce the expansion plan held at the Presidential Office in the same month. Currently, construction is underway with the aim of completing it in 2022. The total site area of the new factory by Nidec and its subsidiary Nidec Elesys is approximately 96,000 square meters and more than 1,000 new employees are expected to be hired.
In a meeting with Mr. Izumida, Ambassador Kovač once again expressed his gratitude for Nidec's expansion into Serbia and stated that the company's expansion would lead to more active economic exchanges between Serbia and Japan and increased investment by Japanese companies.
